Privacy Policy for De-Thorn

De-Thorn is developed and operated by Mellowdrum Apps LLC (“Mellowdrum Apps,” “we,” “us,” or “our”). This Privacy Policy explains how De-Thorn handles information when you use the application.

Information We Collect

Google Account Information

De-Thorn uses Google Sign-In through Firebase Authentication.

When you sign in, De-Thorn may receive information associated with your Google account, such as your email address, display name, Google-provided profile information, and a unique Firebase user identifier.

This information is used to authenticate your account, identify your De-Thorn account across devices, manage your trial access, and associate purchases with the correct account.

De-Thorn does not receive or store your Google password.

Firebase Authentication may also process technical information such as IP addresses, device/platform information, and authentication-related information for security and fraud prevention.

Trial Information

De-Thorn provides a limited free trial.

To prevent a trial from restarting when the app is reinstalled or used on another device, De-Thorn stores a trial start date in Google Firebase Firestore associated with your unique Firebase user identifier.

Your recipe collection is not stored in Firestore.

Purchases

De-Thorn may offer a one-time purchase through Google Play to unlock additional app functionality.

Purchase processing is handled by Google Play and RevenueCat, a third-party service used to verify purchases and determine whether premium access has been unlocked.

RevenueCat may process your De-Thorn user identifier, purchase and entitlement information, Google Play purchase tokens, and limited technical information necessary to provide its service.

Mellowdrum Apps does not receive your complete payment card or banking information. Payment processing is handled by Google Play.

Recipes and Cookbook Data

Your De-Thorn cookbook is primarily stored locally on your device.

This may include saved recipes, recipe ingredients and instructions, folders, favorites, recently viewed recipes, manually created recipes, recipe notes or modifications, and photos you choose to associate with recipes.

Mellowdrum Apps does not operate a cloud cookbook database containing your saved recipes.

Deleting De-Thorn or clearing the application's storage may therefore remove locally stored cookbook information unless you have created a backup.

Recipe Website Requests

When you provide De-Thorn with a recipe website URL, including when using Android's Share feature, De-Thorn contacts that website to retrieve information needed to extract the recipe.

The third-party website may receive normal internet request information such as your IP address, device/network information, and the requested URL, just as it would if you visited the website normally.

Mellowdrum Apps does not use recipe URLs or extracted recipe contents to build advertising profiles.

Third-party recipe websites are governed by their own privacy policies and terms.

Cookbook Backups

De-Thorn allows you to create a cookbook backup.

Backup files are created at your request and are saved or shared through destinations you select using your device's sharing features.

Mellowdrum Apps does not automatically receive copies of your cookbook backups.

If you voluntarily send a backup file or other information to Mellowdrum Apps for technical support, that information will be used only as reasonably necessary to respond to your request.

Third-Party Service Providers

De-Thorn relies on services provided by Google Firebase for authentication and limited account/trial information, Google Play for application distribution and purchase processing, and RevenueCat for purchase and entitlement verification.

These companies may process information according to their own privacy policies and applicable agreements with Mellowdrum Apps.

Advertising and Sale of Personal Information

De-Thorn does not sell your personal information.

De-Thorn does not use your personal information for third-party behavioral advertising.

The app may display featured or promoted recipe content. The presence of promoted content does not give sponsors access to your De-Thorn account, cookbook, or personal information.

Data Retention

Locally stored cookbook information remains on your device until you delete it, clear the application's data, uninstall the application, or restore or replace your cookbook information.

Account and trial information maintained through Firebase may remain until your De-Thorn account is deleted or until the information is no longer reasonably necessary to provide the service.

Purchase records may be retained by Google Play, RevenueCat, or Mellowdrum Apps when necessary to maintain purchase entitlements, prevent fraud, comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, or maintain required financial records.

Account and Data Deletion

You may request deletion of your De-Thorn account and associated personal information.

Account deletion removes account information controlled by Mellowdrum Apps, including the associated Firebase Authentication account and De-Thorn trial information, except information that must be retained for legitimate legal, security, fraud-prevention, financial, or regulatory purposes.

Locally stored cookbook data is controlled through your device and may be deleted by deleting the applicable information within De-Thorn or removing the application's local data.

Security

Mellowdrum Apps uses reasonable administrative and technical safeguards designed to protect information handled by De-Thorn. Information transmitted to service providers such as Firebase and RevenueCat is transmitted using secure network connections provided by those services.

No electronic transmission or storage method can be guaranteed to be completely secure.

Children's Privacy

De-Thorn is not specifically directed toward children under 13, and Mellowdrum Apps does not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.

If we become aware that personal information from a child under 13 has been collected inappropriately, we will take reasonable steps to delete it.

Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy as De-Thorn changes or as legal and platform requirements change.

The current version will be posted on the Mellowdrum Apps website with the updated effective date.
